CLIENT: Top 5 Worldwide Motor Manufacturer
The client is one of the top 5 motor vehicle manufacturer across the globe covering aspects such as head and regional offices in country, assembly, stamping, engine manufacturing, casting and stamping facilities. Our clients’ success is powered by a commitment that’s global in scale providing for 166,000 people working in plants and offices in country after country.
Enviro-Comm are pleased to have been a trusted supplier to this client for a number of years, undertaking a number of small, medium and large scale critical projects. As is often the case in the manufacturing environment, the working timeframe is limited. As such there has to be a clear focus on achieving the desired client outcome in a fixed window of opportunity. We are pleased to say that on all of the projects undertaken this has been achieved to our client’s satisfaction, leading to more opportunities.
Most recently in 2014 Enviro-Comm were tasked to design and implement a 15 kilometre single mode fibre optic backbone within the clients’ engine manufacturing plant in the UK. The 12 core fibre backbone had to be installed at high level to clear all plant and machinery. This strategic element of the client infrastructure was linked to 30 strategically positioned cabinets around the manufacturing facility, with final terminations being delivered to two computer rooms for resilience.
The challenge for Enviro-Comm on this project had been that the whole project had to be delivered over a tight 3 week time period during the clients’ summer shutdown. Although time was tight Enviro-Comm achieved this huge challenge and delivered the job on time and to budget.
CLIENT: Major Events Venue – North England
Our client is the industry leader in the provision of events venues. Established in 1977 our client now has over 220 venues around the globe.
During 2013 Enviro-Comm was approached to design install a fibre optic backbone network and delivering 1000 Category 5e outlets over three floors at a new venue in the North East of England. The fibre and data cabling solution designed by Enviro-Comm routed back to 16 cabinet locations strategically positioned throughout the venue.
This infrastructure project completed on time and to budget to the full satisfaction of the client. So much so, we were asked to assist them with the procurement of all LAN infrastructure hardware to be based on to the new Enviro-Comm delivered infrastructure.
The success of this project has since led to further orders for hardware equipment and we are now looking at a similar opportunity for this client at another events venue in the UK.
In addition we supplied, installed and programmed 38 Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switches linking the fibre and copper to the network.
CLIENT: Airline Catering, Retail and Logistics – UK wide
The client is the provider of airline catering, retail and logistics services to some 17 airports located throughout the UK. With revenues exceeding £300 million per year and employing around 3600 people they are seen, quite literally, as the leading light in their market sector.
Towards the end of 2013 Enviro-Comm were approached to design a new fibre optic backbone, data cabling, wireless access points and tannoy system. This project was designed to span three new connecting properties and to interconnect to the clients’ existing infrastructure in an adjoining property.
The ultimate aim for our client was to deliver a “centre of excellence” to be able to demonstrate services available to most major airline clients. As a green field location a number of trades were operating on the overall refurbishment program and therefore a cohesive project management relationship needed to be successful with all operating trades.
With the collaborative approach with all companies working on this project a successful completion was achieved to the full satisfaction of the ultimate client.
